In an ongoing effort to preserve the memory and legacy of the sunken ocean liner SS Vestris of the Lamport and Holt Line, five grave markers were discovered in a Hoboken, New Jersey cemetary along with the forgotten graves of five crewmembers lost on the Vestris off the coast of Virginia in 1928. Vestris was sailing through a nasty storm while en-route between New York City and South America. Damage from the storm sank the liner killing between 110 and 127 passengers and crew including all women and children. Only 22 bodies were ever recovered.
